HELP: I received an error message when making a payment – what happened?
A failed online payment occurred for any of the reasons below:
The billing address you entered does not match the address your bank has on file. Please check the billing address and ZIP code of the card you are using.
The CVV code does not match to the credit card number.
The entered credit card number is not a valid credit card number or the card has been suspended or frozen.
What if my billing address is a PO Box?
You may see payment errors if your billing address is a PO Box. Most banks require your physical address for verification purposes. For that reason, you would need to enter your physical address as your billing address.
However, if your card address is a PO Box, then you can try entering the box number first in the billing address. For example, enter “1234 PO Box” rather than “PO Box 1234”.
Why do I see charge(s) on my credit card online portal when I received an error here? Did you charge my card?
Don’t worry, we did not charge your card. However when processing your payment we send an authorization request in the full amount. The credit card processes the authorization and returns us back the reason it failed, however the pending charge / authorization may remain on the credit card system for up to 10 days. It will be automatically removed after it expires.
